Location

In God’s providence, Church on Mill is positioned in a strategically significant setting. Across the street from one of the largest universities in the United States, we have an endless mission field right at our doorstep.

Students and scholars descend on Tempe from around the world to study for a few years. Our passion is to see them saved, maturing in Christ, trained in the importance of the local church, and sent back around the world as missionaries when they depart. By God’s grace, it’s working!

The below picture offers aerial perspective of Church on Mill’s existing properties. The houses are used for education space, college interns, or pastoral residents. Remaining facilities include the collegiate building, church offices, and auditorium.

The larger brown building is the auditorium. Under the expansion, the north wall will remain the same, while the south, east, and west walls will all move outward, to create a substantially larger building. More room to send!

This expansion is Phase 1 in a larger plan to address each building on property. We hope to build classrooms, administrative offices, and a family ministry building in the near future as Phase 2.

The church, of course, is not the building or location: the church is the people! Nevertheless, place matters, for it is where God sovereignly puts each church to share the gospel.

As Paul put it, “To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 1:2-3
